A UK-trained Doctor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Mercy M. Adeyeye is an individual with great passion for entrepreneurship with a deep interest centred on social entrepreneurship. A rare-breed and brainy academic entrepreneur, edupreneur, entrepreneurship mentor, trainer of trainers and consultant of great repute,she has two Master's degree and an Mphil in Entrepreneurship. Her research interests are entrepreneurship and innovation, entrepreneurial finance, knowledge Intensive Businesses (KIBS), SMEs, corporate entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and developing economies. She is a great speaker and motivator. She trains, nurtures and mentors students to be self- reliant and renowned entrepreneurs. She is also a profound writer who has written and edited different books and publications. She has extensive Experience in Administration, research and curriculum development. Internationally, she is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), UK; a member of the British Academy of Management (BAM), UK; a research associate of the International Centre for Entrepreneurship Research (ICER), UK; an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK; and a member of the Scientific Board of the International Centre of Economics, Humanities and Management (ICEHM). At the national level, she is a Fellow of the Institute of Classic Entrepreneurs (INCENT), member of the Academy of Management (IAM), member of the Nigerian Strategic Research Board on Development Policies, Economic Performance and Sustainability and also the International Research and Development Institute Network, Uyo.

She is the head of the Entrepreneurship and Business Studies Department of the School of Entrepreneurship and Management Technology of the Federal University of Technology, Minna. She is the grand matron of the Entrepreneurship Students’ Vocational Clubs (FUT, Minna). In the University, she is a Senate member, a member of the Governing Board of Centre for Open Distance and e-learning (CODel), and the Governing Board of the Academic Publishing Unit of the University. She is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of African Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (AFRIJESB).

Prof. Happiness Oselebe is a multiple academic award winner and internationally acclaimed Professor of Plant Breeding and Genetics in the Department of Crop Production & Landscape Management, Faculty of Agriculture & Natural Resources Management, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki. An academic entrepreneur, agropreneur and female entrepreneur par excellence, she is a rare-breed teacher, researcher and mentor.

Prof Happiness Oselebe graduated from University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1993 for her B.Sc degree with First Class honors. She received her MSc. degree in 1998 and PhD degree in 2003, also with honors from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Her PhD thesis was adjudged the best for the session, hence she received the Faculty Postgraduate prize, as well as Vice-Chancellor’s Postgraduate prize as the best graduating doctoral (PhD) student in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2003/2004 session.

Happiness currently teaches and supervises B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD students. Her research interest is in the development of improved crop varieties that are economically efficient and sustainable, both in quality and yield, especially under limiting environments. She is also exploring the development of drought tolerant rice varieties for water stressed environments; the generation of rice hybrids with resistance/tolerance to African Rice Gall Midge, as well as purifying identified farmers’ landrace genotype prior to release as new variety. She also focuses on the sustainable use of African neglected and underutilized species (NUS), also known as orphan crops such as fruits, vegetables and medicinal plants. She specifically explores the improvement and generation of new varieties of the orphan crops to enhance food security and income in African communities. She is the present Dean, Faculty of Agriculture & Natural Resources Management, Ebonyi State university Abakaliki-Nigeria.

Happiness attracted several research grants to her university. She is collaborating with International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) on a funded breeding project for increased yam productivity and quality in West Africa’. From 2016 to 2020 she is co-coordinator of the European Union funded program on ‘’Enhancing training and research mobility for novel crops breeding in Africa’’ referred to as ‘’MoBreed’’. From 2017 to 2021 she is also the African Coordinator of another European Union project on ‘’Mobility for plant genomics scholars to accelerate climate-smart adaptation options and food security in Africa’’ referred to as ‘’GENES’’. These two grants from the Intra-Africa Mobility Scheme of the European Union helps train young Nigerians and Africans to become high profile Plant Breeders and Genomic Scholars working on African orphan crops and food security crops at the Masters and PhD level. She is a gender grantee of the Association of Commonwealth Universities in 2017 and had attracted a special TETFund equipment grant worth fifty million naira only, to her university for upgrading of the University’s Biotechnology Laboratory.

Happiness is a 2009 Fellow of Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellows Program for Women in Science; a 2010 AWARD (African Women in Agricultural Research & Development) Fellow; and a Fellow of the UC Davis African Plant Breeding Academy, 2015. She pioneered the incorporation of an agribusiness outfit engaged in seed production (EBSU Agribusiness Enterprises Limited) for her university. She also floated her own seed company (Strategic Seeds Nigeria Limited) and both companies are doing well. She has a passion for working with smallholder farmers, building their capacities and enhancing their production and income level and in effect their livelihood.

Happiness has published more than 50 scientific publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals. She is happily married with children and her hobbies include sports, reading novels and travelling.

Alarape is a trainer of entrepreneurs, industrial management consultant, researcher and lecturer at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Studies (IFEDS), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria. His expertise and specialty are within the field of entrepreneurship, small business management and strategic management. He has published widely in reputable journals and presented papers at conference both local and international. Also, he is an expert in developing entrepreneurship educational curriculum at sub-degree, degree and postgraduate levels. At present, he is the coordinator of postgraduate programmes at IFEDS, OAU, Ile Ife. He is a Fellow of Institute of Classic Entrepreneurs and an associate editor of African Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (AFRIJESB).

Bamidele Wale-Oshinowo Ph.D., MBAM,MAMN, MNIM, MNIMN, FCEnt

Bamidele Wale-Oshinowo obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Management from the United Kingdom. She currently lectures at the Department of Business Administration, University of Lagos. Her broad teaching and research interests are in the areas of entrepreneurship and strategic management. More specifically, she focuses on the following core research areas: firm culture, strategic orientations and performance indices of family businesses and micro-small-to-medium scale enterprises (MSMEs) in developing African economies. She has published in the fields of family business, entrepreneurship and gender-based research in national academic journals; and has attended and delivered papers at several local and international academic conferences. She is also a regular reviewer for local and international academic journals and conferences. In recent times, Bamidele has been invited to act in different capacities at academic and non-academic events; a few examples are as follows: Appointed Judge for the 2018/2019 Nigerian Risks Award; Co-Proponent for the Family Business Track at the 2017 European Academic of Management (EURAM) Conference, held in the UK; One of the Discussants at the 12th Annual Global Business Symposium held at University of Cork, Ireland in 2017.

Bamidele is the Track Lead for Family Business & Gender Entrepreneurship at the ARUA Centre of Excellence for Unemployment & Skills Development, AEDUP, University of Lagos. She is a member of British Academy of Management (BAM); African Academy of Management (AFAM), The Academy of Management Nigeria (TAMN), Nigerian Institute of Management ‘Chartered’ (NIM) and National Institute of Marketing Nigeria (NIMN)
